The area around Berwick-upon-Tweed offers a host of cycling opportunities. Famed for its history, stunning landscapes and abundance of natural wonders, there is something for everyone with a taste for the outdoors.

National Cycle Route 1 (NCR 1)
Route 1 latest!!
National Cycle Network Route 1 along the coast between Berwick and Holy Island is stunning.
However it is rough in places and is very muddy when wet. The images below show dry conditions.
It is currently fine for mountain bikes and hybrids but not recommended for road bikes.

**National Cycle Network Route 1 at Berwick Old Bridge is closed until Summer 2024. Local Diversions are in place.
