Routes and Links
The area around Berwick-upon-Tweed offers a host of cycling opportunities. Famed for its history, stunning landscapes and abundance of natural wonders, there is something for everyone with a taste for the outdoors.

National Cycle Route 1 (NCR 1)
Route 1 latest!!
National Cycle Network Route 1 along the coast between Berwick and Holy Island is stunning.
However it is rough in places and is very muddy when wet.
It is currently fine for mountain bikes and hybrids but not recommended for road bikes.

---------------------------

**NCR 1 will be disrupted from winter 2020/21 at the Chain Bridge at Horncliffe, where prolonged closures will mean diversions. Please plan your cycling accordingly
